Near the Damansara River's mouth, on the Klang River, Damansara was formerly a tiny community resembling a port. The Damansara Road, which terminated at Brickfields in Kuala Lumpur, was then used by travellers to get from Damansara to that city. With a Tesco store, IPC Shopping Centre, One Utama, the largest IKEA outlet in Southeast Asia, and The Curve shopping complex all within walking distance of one another, it is well-positioned to succeed. In addition, Damansara Utama is home to the Uptown commercial district, which is where major multinational corporations have their Malaysian branches.
